Kate Moss stunned by success

Kate MossKate Moss ‘blags’ being a model.

The supermodel – who has worked on campaigns for a host of fashion houses including Calvin Klein, Chanel and Burberry, as well as appearing on hundreds of magazine covers – admits she is surprised by her own success.

She said: ‘I still can’t quite believe it, even now. I still think I’m blagging it a bit but nobody’s cottoned on yet.’

Discussing her level of fame, the 36-year-old beauty admits it does get to her on occasions.

She said: ‘Sometimes, I don’t like it, but then I’ve got to deal with it, so I do. You know, I just wanted to be good at my job, I never wanted to be famous, but that happens to come with it.

‘I’m still having a wonderful time modelling. In career terms, things have never been better. Modelling has given me insights and experience that I can now use in other ways.’

Kate also revealed her collaboration with leather goods company Longchamp came about as a result of simply liking their creative crew.

She told Britain’s Grazia magazine: ‘I just really like them as people. I find them lovely to work with, so that was the main issue.

‘For me, that is always the first thing. Longchamp is a family business, it’s been going for more than 60 years and I just love the whole feeling of it.’

Cheryl Cole’s style confusion

Cheryl ColeCheryl Cole doesn’t understand why people think she’s a style icon.

The Girls Aloud beauty – who is often regarded as one of the world’s best dressed women – is bemused by the accolades placed on her and says she didn’t set out to be a fashionista.

She said: ‘I don’t know where the fashion icon thing comes from, though! They gave that to me – I didn’t claim it.’

Despite the pressure to look good, Cheryl insists she doesn’t let it get to her because she knows how unhealthy it can be.

She told new! magazine: ‘I have days like any other woman when I feel rubbish. But that’s just a woman thing – we have crazy hormones sometimes. But I try not to let the pressure get to me because I think it could drive you insane. I am still human, no matter what labels I’m given or how people look at it.’

The ‘Fight For This Love’ singer also revealed she refuses to splash out thousands of pounds on a designer dress and instead borrows them for special occasions.

She said: ‘I have a very expensive dress which I didn’t buy because I couldn’t justify buying. So it was loaned to me for the red carpet – that was  £30,000.’

Clothes designer Madonna?

MadonnaMadonna is reportedly in talks to launch her own clothing range.

The ‘Material Girl’ singer – who previously designed a line of clothes for high store H+M in 2007 – is said to be considering creating a collection of outfits, which will be sold exclusively at US store Macy’s.

According to WWD, the names being considered for the label ‘include Material Girl for the apparel and Truth or Dare for the lingerie and underwear’.

Spokespeople for both Madonna and Macy’s refused to comment on the reports.

However, if she does decide to create a line, she will be following in the footsteps of many other stars who have entered the fashion world.

Both Gwen Stefani and Victoria Beckham have launched their respective lines, L.A.M.B. and dVb, to critical acclaim, while Kate Moss has had a hugely successful collaboration with British high street chain Topshop.

Madonna, 51, is no stranger to the fashion world and recently starred in new adverts for Italian designers Dolce and Gabbana.

Alexa Chung’s debut range

Alexa ChungAlexa Chung’s debut clothing collection has been unveiled.

The British TV presenter, who currently spends much of her time in New York, unveiled her first range of clothes with US store Madewell.

Commenting on the designs, the 26-year-old beauty said: ‘Madewell’s vision is kind of the same as mine.

‘They like laid back styles, they like kind of relaxed clothes – classic, timeless things. So when they asked to collaborate, it was a perfect fit.’

The collection had a heavy 60s influence with tea dresses, denim, high waisted skirts and velvet.

She also insisted on bringing some British style to the assortment with the pairing of socks and sandals.

However, Alexa was not so sure if another collection was in the works.

She said: ‘We haven’t really discussed another one yet but it would be amazing to do. We’ll see how this goes.’

Meanwhile, at New York Fashion Week, various designers have taken to the catwalk including Diane von Furstenberg, Zac Posen, DKNY and Thakoon.

Overriding trends include large jackets, coloured tights and men’s tailoring.

Kellan Lutz at ease with underwear ads

Kellan Lutz at ease with underwear adsKellan Lutz was ‘completely at ease’ stripping down to his underpants for Calvin Klein’s new underwear ads.

The ‘Twilight Saga: New Moon’ hunk – who stars alongside ‘True Blood’ actor Mehcad Brooks, Spanish tennis star Fernando Verdasco and Japanese athlete Hidetoshi Nakata in the sexy campaign – said he was comfortable about exposing his body because the designer underpants ‘hold everything in’.

He revealed: ‘You know I’ve done other fittings where you have to wear underwear and you’re kind of uncomfortable because they look funny or it doesn’t fit well. They made it really easy. The clothes fit great – there wasn’t anything that was riding up, so you don’t feel uncomfortable posing.’

But the actor – who started his career as a model for Abercrombie + Fitch – did admit to having doubts after the campaign had been shot.

He joked to usmagazine.com: ‘But now my nude a*s is going to be all over the billboards, we’ll see what my mother thinks!’
