Cheryl Cole is expected to file for divorce from her husband Ashley Cole ‘within weeks’.
Friends of the ‘Fight for This Love’ singer – whose soccer player husband allegedly cheated on her with an unnamed blonde secretary – claim the 26-year-old pop beauty will leave him after growing ‘exhausted’ by allegations of his infidelity.
One pal told the Daily Mail newspaper: ‘Cheryl is holding it together, she is extremely tough – don’t forget she comes from a council estate in Newcastle, England, and is a fighter.
‘She loves Ashley, he is the love of her life, but there is only so much she will take.
‘Cheryl is exhausted with it all. There was a point when she was going to ride it all out, but she has heard rumours of more women and cannot face it. They will split within weeks.’
This news comes shortly after a blonde office worker claimed she had slept with Ashley twice in 2008 after exchanging explicit pictures and text messages with the 29-year-old sportsman for weeks. Texts of a similar nature were also found on the phone of glamour model Sonia Wild.
If the couple – who wed in July 2006 – do divorce, Cheryl can expect to receive a large percentage of Ashley’s wealth, because they didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement.
A legal source said: ‘This is an unusual situation for a footballer as very few have wives with their own earnings. However, the discrepancy between their net worths means that Mrs Cole would have a very strong case for a significant claim over a large portion of his wealth, now and in the future.’
Cheryl flew to Los Angeles yesterday (17.02.10) following her performance at the BRITs on Tuesday (16.02.10).
The Girls Aloud singer wasn’t wearing her £160,000 engagement or wedding ring before her flight – but had a similar gold-coloured rock on in its place.
A source said: ‘Cheryl’s most treasured possession is her diamond wedding ring. She is refusing to wear it. The fact she has replaced it with a decoy is a big two fingers up to Ashley. To onlookers it looks like she’s a married woman – but to Ashley it’s a clear sign that she feels their relationship is in big, big trouble.’

Alex Reid doesn’t want to adopt Peter Andre’s children.
The 34-year-old cage-fighter – who recently married Peter’s ex-wife Katie Price in a Las Vegas ceremony – feels as though he has a strong bond with the singer’s kids, Junior, four, and Princess Tiaamii, two, but recognises that Peter is their father.
Speaking to British TV talk show host Alan Carr, Alex said: ‘Peter’s a great dad, I don’t want to take anything away from him so why not all sit round a table. I love those kids, but I don’t want to be their dad.’
Peter broke down during a recent television interview when it was suggested Alex may try to formally adopt his children, mirroring Peter’s rejected plans to adopt seven-year-old Harvey – Katie’s son from her relationship with soccer player Dwight Yorke.
Meanwhile, Peter has suggested glamour model Katie was a bossy wife.
Playing a guess the celebrity game on upcoming UK TV show ‘Chris Moyles’ Quiz Night’, 36-year-old Peter said: ‘This person is a dominatrix. Imagine living with a woman like that? Someone so bossy. I don’t have to imagine that any more.’
He also joked Katie would not be as satisfied in bed with Alex as she was with him.
He quipped: ‘Once you’ve had Greek, you’ve hit your peak.’
Katie recently insisted she and Alex will be equals in their marriage.
She said: ‘I want to buy a house with Alex. I want it all to be equal – his money, my money, completely split down the line.
‘Whatever work we do together, it’s not going to be, ‘I take my half, he take his.’ We’re putting it all in a joint account and that’s how a marriage really should be.’

Victoria Beckham has defended the use of size zero models.
The former Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer insists many girls on the runways do not starve themselves and instead have a naturally small body shape.
She said: ‘Most of these girls are naturally thin. And I don’t think we should be discriminating against someone because they are too thin or too curvy or too large or whatever it is.
‘I had a casting last week and had some terribly thin girls come in and it wouldn’t have worked.’
Victoria – who recently unveiled her fourth collection of dresses during New York Fashion Week – has signed up for the Health is Beauty campaign by the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America), and believes designers are beginning to change who they cast as models.
She told US TV show ‘The View’: ‘The CFDA have reached out to designers, stylists and casting directors not to work with underage models, girls that are too thin and to be more ethnically aware.
‘The campaign the CFDA has launched is called Health is Beauty and they are definitely encouraging designers to work with healthier sized models.’
Victoria’s designs have been worn by a wide variety of celebrities since her debut fashion range in 2008, including Heidi Klum, Madonna, Mary J. Blige, Elle Macpherson and Jennifer Lopez.

Heidi Klum wants her five-year-old daughter to help design her clothing lines.
The supermodel – who recently launched her own range of maternity clothes Loved and Lavish – has been enjoying creating outfits and thinks little Leni could come up with some good ideas.
The mother-of-four said: ‘My daughter Leni was there when I designed the floral pattern for some of the fabrics. She was like, ‘Wow, so many of them.’ I’ve been thinking that maybe one day I’ll have her create a pattern for me too.’
Heidi – who is married to singer Seal and gave birth to youngest daughter Lou last October – says the names for the lines were inspired by how she felt when she was pregnant.
She is quoted by website Celebrity Baby Blog as saying: ‘Loved was inspired by the love surrounding you and your baby while you’re pregnant. We came up with Lavish because there’s no grander expression of everything you want to give yourself and the child growing within. It’s all about the extravagance of love.’
Heidi – who also has sons, Henry, four, and Johan, three – wanted to create clothes for pregnant women as she knows how important it is to look and feel good.
She said: ‘I experienced some style challenges during my four pregnancies, so I wanted to create maternity fashions that allow women to show off their beautiful shapes. As my bump grew, I would look in the mirror and be in awe of the changes happening to my body. I was creating a nourishing space for this new life. My clothes are all about making you feel great during this process.’

Alexander McQueen died after hanging himself in a wardrobe, an inquest into his death has found.
The 40-year-old fashion designer – who was found dead in his London home last week on the eve of his beloved mother’s funeral – also left a suicide note and a post-mortem has now revealed he passed away due to asphyxiation and hanging.
The five-minute hearing at London’s Westminster Coroner’s Court was told his body had been identified on the day of his death by his sister, Janet McQueen, and were also informed there were no suspicious circumstances.
The inquest has been adjourned the inquest until April 28.
McQueen – who was born in London’s East End – was named British Designer of the Year on four occasions between 1996 and 2003 and made clothes for a whole range of high-profile stars, including Britain’s Prince Charles.
He was also awarded a CBE as well as being named International Designer of the Year at the Council of Fashion Designer Awards.
Since his death, a host of stars – including Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham – have paid tribute to him, while Lady Gaga dedicated her performance at last night’s (16.02.10) BRIT Awards to him.

Zoe Saldana used to dress like a ‘Sci-Fi geek’.
The ‘Avatar’ actress says she has always been in to fashion and used to experiment with her look while she was growing up.
She said: ‘In high school I was a little bit of everything. Sometimes I would want to dress like a cheerleader or like a mean girl or the Sci-Fi geek that I usually was. It all depended on my mood, but I always knew that I loved fashion.’
Zoe, 31, says her love of clothes stems from her mother, who always encouraged her to take pride in her appearance.
She said: ‘My mum is from the Caribbean so her advice has always been incorporate colour in your wardrobe. I always end up dressing in black and white – the New York state of mind. But I really do try to listen to my mom’s advice.’
The ‘Star Trek’ beauty also revealed she is a huge fan of up-and-coming designer Prabal Gurung, after seeing his show at New York Fashion Week.
She told People magazine: ‘I just went to the Prabal Gurung show and I was absolutely smitten by all their clothes. I was absolutely thrown back by his beautiful collection. There was definitely this black dress that he had with a leather belt and I went crazy for it. I was like, ‘I must have that!’ ‘

Leona Lewis has slammed Harrods for still stocking fur.
The ‘I Got You’ singer, who is famous for her strong views on vegetarianism, branded the famous department store ‘backwards’ and even admits she turned down the opportunity to open its sale because of her beliefs.
She said: ‘They did offer me money to open the sale but I said no because they stock fur.
‘They’re one of the few places that still do it, I just think it’s so backwards, it’s very evil and cruel. I definitely stand up for what I believe in when it comes to animal rights.’
Leona even managed to force BRITS bosses to change the menu at the awards show yesterday (16.02.10) from foie gras to a more vegetarian friendly option by threatening to pull out of appearing.
The 24-year-old songstress added to Smooth Radio: ‘That’s a big misconception I think that a lot of people are like ‘she’s shy, she’s very timid’. Once people get to know me they know that that’s actually not true. I am very opinionated. I stand up for what I believe.’
Leona made a high-fashion impact at the BRIT awards, straying from her usual long length gowns and opting instead for a silver symmetric William Tempest mini-dress and neon pink shoes.

Sandra Bullock has not chosen her dress for the Oscars.
The 45-year-old beauty – who has been nominated for Best Actress for her role in ‘The Blind Side’ at next month’s ceremony – admits she is losing track of time and needs to get herself prepared.
She said: ‘I’m so behind. Today was the first time that I actually saw one dress and then looked at some sketches.
‘I’m pretty good about finding something and sort of circling around it and then I’m oddly relaxed about it because it’s someone else’s job to finely stitch thousands of pleats and jewels into a gorgeous thing to make you look divine.’
However, the confident star even admits she would be comfortable in a less than glamorous creation.
She said: ‘Look, if I have to wear a trash bag I’ll belt it with rhinestones and I’ll make it work, but I’m not panicking for some reason because there are so many beautiful things out there that someone will not want to wear and I’ll get it.’
