Roberto Cavalli wants internet inspiration

Roberto Cavalli is using social networking websites to get inspirations for his new designs.

The designer wants to keep better connected with the way young people dress – as well as being able to communicate more directly with his fans – so has started a blog as well as twitter and facebook pages.

He told vogue.com: ‘I love to learn from young people. I love to look at the way in which they mix clothes and accessories, the way in which they are influenced by music and I try to create things that they might like… and what better way to be directly in contact with them than through these amazing tools which are becoming a social phenomenon?’

Roberto also explained how he recognises the way people’s fashion choices are informed are changing, so altered the invite list of his most recent shows accordingly.

He added: ‘During my last Roberto Cavalli and Just Cavalli fashion shows I wanted the more influential fashion bloggers to be present at my shows since the way to communicate is changing – and I love it. I always liked to challenge myself into new experiences.’

Roberto re-launches his new website on March 31, which includes a special section dedicated to the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of the Cavalli fashion house.

He can be followed via his blog at www.robertocavalliblog.com on facebook at www.facebook.com/RobertoCavalli and on twitter at @roberto_cavalli.
