The ‘High School Musical’ star wanted to get into tip-top shape for her role in action movie ‘Sucker Punch’ so enlisted the help of the US Navy SEALs, a Maritime Special Operations Force.
She said: ‘I trained with the Navy SEALs for five months. It was the most intense thing that anyone could ever do.
‘I was bawling my eyes out because they push you so hard. But it’s amazing what you find from it. When you go so far you find a certain Zen within that and you know you can do anything. It’s very empowering.’
Vanessa is not the only celebrity to get in shape for a movie role.
Last year, Sienna miller underwent six weeks of intense fighting and martial arts classes before starring in ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’.
She said: ‘I had to get fit for the first time in my life, so that was entertaining. I was very reluctant, being English.
‘I’m a good little scrapper now. I just couldn’t believe it. I’d be like, ‘Oh my goodness, I’ve got a muscle’, but it’s all gone to pot now.’
