Morning guys, so yes, I attended The Clothes Show and let’s just say it was interesting to say the least. The show went beyond the clothes to include a mini beach [yes I said beach], a martini section filled with free flowing drinks and scantily clad beauty models. The temptation to shop was incredibly overwhelming, specifically when it came to the vintage section BUT knowing that this event went beyond mere pleasure, I set out with ‘networking’ as my main mission and boy did I succeed. I met models, hairdressers, photographers and designers! The one who stuck out to me the most was the designer for the fashion brand ‘zed eye’. She was a quirky little thing with crazy prints and was very popular amongst celebrities and magazine publications alike!!
Look out for her!!

I have always been a lover of all things vintage and today, I received some news that made my insides warm and tingly: I have been invited to an exclusive exhibition of some of the most valued and retro items from optometrist and eyewear fashionista, Viren Jani.
The even greater news is that it is an open event, which means that you are invited also!! So that’s Viren Jani, super cool vintage glasses, ME and if you are smart…you as well! See you there! xoxo

Afternoon all,
Soon and very soon, I shall be off to The Clothes Show London with all the other fashion press. If you do not already know, this is THE hottest fashion and beauty event. It will be at Earl’s Court between the 25th and 27th of this month, i.e. on friday.
I can practically here you all salivating sooo let me just give you a wee hint at the fabulousness to unfold:
1) A beach catwalk show
2) Professional make-overs
3) A 45 min fashion and dance extravaganza
AND if this isn’t enough, I will be getting entry into a private seating area just like the VIP that I am!! The ONLY problem is that I have until the end of the day to secure a photographer for the event and thus far EVERYONE is entirely occupied with other photography/holiday plans. I am starting to worry that when the event comes it will just be little ol’ me and my digital camera. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that eh?….

Morning Guys!! I forgot to tell you about Graduate Fashion Week [GFW for those of you in the know]. Well basically, I had the opportunity to attend the event and let me tell you it was awesome. I ended up bumping into some previous co-workers from Kiss 100 which was odd being at the same event but not working together…but it was still fun and nostalgic-y [yes I am aware that is not a word].
Anyhoo back to the point at hand , the show , the show was super awesome; it was filled with towering models, inspiring clothes and inspired fashion connoisseurs whispering and snapping the odd pic, no doubt conspiring about who the next big designer would be. The winner of the River Island Golden award [which btw is a prize that comes hand in hand with GBP20, 000] turned out to be a lady by the name of Rebecca Thompson of Manchester Metropolitan University. I envied her somewhat but as I am not a designer, I really have no right to release the green eyed monster and so I merely clapped with the multitude whilst silently wondering if my ‘button embellishments’ with a few cardigans qualified as fashion design? Something tells me the answer is no….

AAAAARGGGH!! Guys, I totally love my job but if I have to hear ONE more person talking about their boyfriends, I just may scream!!! OK, if you haven’t gathered from my quasi rant, I am most definitely single which I am ok with but I would be even more OK if I found myself a guy…a cute guy…preferably one with a stable career and if that career happens to be one in ‘modelling’ then who am I to complain??
I keep hoping that one of these days, I will get some sort of task that requires I interact closely with super hot male models. Alas, that hasn’t exactly yet happened but luckily for me [or not] I do get to live vicariously through the other guys in the office who are all safely within the confines of a relationship. Sometimes it makes me want to find cupid and slap him silly with his bow and arrow but mostly I smile and offer advice and helpful looking nods whilst secretly wishing everyone would just shut up!!
Ok enough of the self pitying. Fingers crossed, I will meet Mr. Right whilst I am here and then my life shall be complete. Wish me luck. xoxo

Hi guys!! Today has been particularly annoying – why you ask? [I am glad you did] because sometimes I have to chase people for info for the magazine all the time and the way they avoid me you would think that my name was Tony Soprano or that I was a loan shark as opposed to the harmless vision of youth and beauty that I evidently am.
Sometimes it is something that is so simple that the length of delay is actually baffling to me. Let us take Mr. X for example, I have been speaking to him for approximately 2.5 weeks and every single time he promises me that he will send me the relevant information and yet Every. Single. Time, the sun sets and still I am without the details that I need!! Were he telling me that my demands were simply too impossible to be met then I would understand but au contraire, instead he assures me whole-heartedly that he is currently at that very second slap bang in the middle of sending me the info and this is the bit that makes me the slightest bit irritated. At this stage I have a very intense relationship with his answering machine and his email box but these relationships are incredibly useless to me if they do not result in the pro creation of MY INFO!!
If you cannot presently tell, I am a wee bit anal when it comes to timing and people who obstruct my schedules make me want to resort to the Mafia-type scare tactics that they clearly think I intend to use. A word to the wise , IF you want to succeed in this industry, you have to take a leaf out of the cheerleaders’ book and ‘be aggressive, be, be aggressive!’
The good news on the other hand is that things are taking off with MA workshop [the new and super exciting service that Model Advice are soon launching]. I won’t tell you all the gossip now but watch this space guys!! xoxo

It’s been about two seconds since the issue of the magazine launched and already my email inbox has exploded with the multitude of humans who apparently knew since they were naught but embryonic fluid that their destiny in life was to enter the glamorous world that is modelling. I wouldn’t say I agreed with all of them per se but who am I to judge? I am 5â€3 [which apparently is a possibility if you want to be a commercial model - ooh eer] and in spite of the ample curves which have me strongly confirmed as a female, it seems Mother Nature wanted to have the last laugh and has given me hairs in unwanted places …ok, I have DEFINITELY digressed a wee bit!
My point is that it is only after the magazine launched that I understood the true significance of the work that Model Advice do!! The true fact of the matter is that everybody wants to be a model but obviously not everybody can be. HOWEVER the guys at MA go the extra mile to give all a fighting chance. I’m talking free advice in addition to other services such as workshops and assistance with their portfolios?!! I dealt with the influx of wannabe models for one day and I buckled under the pressure of the sheer VOLUME!
ANTM , Eat your heart out, Model Advice are crafting potential superstars, one aspiring model at a time!!

Hi guys, I missed some time off work because my body decided once again that it would very much like to become a host for every flu germ imaginable. However, upon my return to the office, I got hit with the awesome news that one of the models from America’s Next Top Model would be coming into the office TODAY [I'm totally glad I braved the lurgies and came to work].
Think back to cycle 7 and remember Melrose Bickerstaff? Yes you heard me , as in FINAL TWO Melrose? Yes, I have been chitting and perhaps even chatting with her. Are you jealous? Well…quite frankly, I would be too!! I remember that in cycle 7 of ANTM, the other contestants didn’t really like her but I cannot see why as she is totally friendly. Speaking with her, I quickly see that she has a strong desire to be a role model figure and provide advice to aspiring models far and wide which incidentally is pretty much what Model Advice is all about….I smell a future partnership!!
So for those of you who want to become a model , we just may have the inside scoop from someone who has experienced and overcome the struggles of a modelling career….

Hello all! Over the past couple of weeks, I have spoken to more Pr folk than I have since pretty much ever: beauty PR, fashion PR, event PR , the list is endless but it seems that for every product/brand/celeb there is a relevant PR person and I have done it ALL.
For some reason, I felt super nervous on the first few interactions; so much so that on more than one occasion, I was re-introduced to my childhood s-t-t-tutter. Now that I think about it, I am not even too sure WHY I was so afraid of these faceless names but I soon learnt the secret to handling industry folk and that is to remember that they are ONLY HUMAN!! Once I had truly come to accept this fact, it was as if I had gained access to Moses’ staff and I could part through the Red Sea of industry folk that had previously intimidated me.
The good thing is that I learnt the trick in the nick of time because a couple of days ago, I got to meet Michele Paradise [who obviously has had a successful modelling career] and whereas previously I would have been a smidgen tongue tied in the presence of a celebrity, instead it was easy like Sunday morning…
So remember people [especially those of you that actually want to be a model], you are only ever as intimidated as you allow yourself to be; in this industry , confidence is KEY!! Xoxo

Hello all! I have been selected as the mystery face of Model Advice which is NOT a modelling agency as I once thought but rather is a unique company [a one stop shop if you will] that offers models advice [duh!] and a whole bunch of services that will shape them into superstars…awesome no?? The best part of it all is that you the lucky readers get to follow me on my journey as an editorial intern.
Having heard horror stories about interns being forced to deal with the grunt work, I fully expected to be fetching coffee and polishing shoes…ok maybe not the latter but I am sure you get the point. However, apparently I am a journalistic wonder and thus my responsibilities transcend those of the average intern. My first official assignment provided me with the opportunity to cover London’s Alternative Fashion Week, complete with press passes, giving me ALL the access to the good stuff.
As I clutched the tickets with all the barely concealed excitement of Charlie with his golden tickets to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, I set off with visions of the life I had always dreamed of. The first lesson I learnt on that day is that becoming successful in this industry is due to a sprinkling of talent and the rest is due to a direct combination of who you know, chance and PERSONALITY. I happen to have the latter of these qualities dripping out of my eyeballs so my day at AFW was awesome. Not only did I get snapped by a magazine for their ‘street style’ section, I made friends with a cool photographer and sat down to enjoy the show [and of course take notes for MY story!!]
This is potentially the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me as I get to make REAL contributions to the magazine which will bring me one step closer to my career dreams; think ‘The Hills’ meets ‘Running in Heels’ and ‘The City’ and that is pretty much my life.
