The Little Black Dress

The little black dress or more affectionately know as LBD. Is there a little black dress for everyone? Strictly speaking No! Black is not the greatest colour for everyone (especially as one gets older).

(Warm tone, great asymmetric hem suitable for any leg! No designated waist, can skim over small tummy. (Asos £200)

Black does have the great advantage of hiding the odd lump and bump which is why it has earned itself the highest accolade and the presence in most women’s wardrobe. I don’t look so good in black, and don’t own one, has that hindered me , no. There are plenty of alternatives out there!

Black is a cool colour tone so works best on a cool skin tone. If you are very fair black can look over powering. Know your skin tone and compliment it with a dress that matches. Find out you skin tone at www.Garmentology.co.uk

Who says brown can not look as good as black! Great shoulders to balance out hips. Dress up or down! (Asos £50)

Wrap top great for larger bust and still show waist. Good width at shoulders to balance out hips. Hurray for long sleeves! (Halston Heritage £285)

Cool or warm?
Look at the inside of your wrist. If you have a pinkish/. Blue tone to your skin you are more than likely to be cool skin toned, a yellow tinge  is warm.
