The BBC show “You’ve Been Scammed” approached MA for some advice on modelling scams. Emily Fisher, founder of Model Advice, was very much ready to warn aspiring models of the scams and hooks these companies may use. This was broadcasted just in time for the launch of the MA Awareness Campaign to help and protect those who are or aspiring to be in the modelling industry.

Business Minded Models–Empowering the Aspiring Model

Our celebrity and image conscious culture brought a career in modelling to front of mind for many teenagers and, increasingly, for both sexes. Yet the reputable drama schools, well established career paths and hard won protections of the actors’ union, Equity, are conspicuously absent in the modelling industry.
It was into this void, that Emily Fisher and business partner Pranjal ‘Neel’ Thapliyal founded Model Advice in May 2007. Models would be invited to attend ‘Model Advice Days’ which would provide introductory advice in all aspects of joining the modelling industry. But with no agency books to fill or photography services to sell, the days were entirely for the benefit of the aspiring model.
