Joan Collins claims jeans are ‘terribly boring’.

The 76-year-old actress admits she does occasionally wear denim, but is surprised at the number of people who put on jeans daily.
She said: ‘I haven’t liked jeans for years – probably because their ubiquity has become terribly boring. Do people really want to conform to looking just like everyone else?
‘Yes, I know denim is hard-wearing and practical, but do the ladies who lunch really want to wear long-lasting utilitarian gear, teamed with chic Chanel or luxury leather on top, while showing off at the Ritz or smart restaurants such as San Lorenzo and the Wolseley?
‘A pencil skirt and opaque tights or simple dark trousers would look infinitely more elegant.’
Despite launching her own brand of jeans with Topshop boss Sir Philip Green in the late 70s, Joan admits she is shocked at the cost of denim these days.
Writing for the Daily Mail newspaper, Joan said: ‘It astounds me to hear some of my friends talking about their designer jeans that cost upwards of £500 – what a waste of money!
‘I see little difference between these and the knock-off styles abounding in the high street shops.’

An exhibition dedicated to the career of Kate Moss has been cancelled.

In September 2008, Paris museum Musee des Arts Decoratifs announced it would have a show in homage of the supermodel and explore the myth behind her.
The exhibition was set to include images of Kate, which have been taken by some of the world’s greatest photographers over the past 20 years.
It was due to be opened last November, but it was temporarily postponed due to lack of funds.
Now the museum has announced that ‘given the economic situation’ it is no longer planning to stage it at all.
While an exhibition is no longer happening, it was recently reported Kate‘s life is to become a play, which is being written by her musician boyfriend Jamie Hince with her help.
An insider said: ‘Jamie is addicted to playwriting and is always jotting down scenes.’
‘He mentioned an idea to Kate, based around the lives of her and her friends – and Kate leapt at the chance to get involved.’
The script will be backed by her friend and Topshop boss Sir Philip Green.
The 36-year-old beauty’s life would certainly make for interesting theatre, as well as modelling for Burberry, Dior and Chanel, she has dated a host of famous men including Johnny Depp and Pete Doherty.
She also has a seven-year-old daughter Lila Grace from her relationship with magazine publisher Jefferson Hack.

Karl Lagerfeld has designed a range of Coca-Cola Light bottles.

The Chanel designer has created a limited edition bottle for release in France, made in aluminium and featuring his own silhouette.
As well as designing the bottles, he also shot the advertising campaign starring models Coco Rocha and Baptise Giacobini.
The bottle goes on sale in France on April 28 and will sell for 47 euros and comes with a matching bottle opener.
In the campaign, Coco is seen in a Lagerfeld-inspired outfit, including his eponymous high-collared white shirt and a black neck tie.
It is not the only collaboration Karl is committing to this month – it was recently announced he would be working with luxury Italian label Hogan in 2011.
In a statement, Hogan said it was looking forward to working with the German-born fashionista.
It read: ‘Karl Lagerfeld has built a universe where every line is controlled and every detail has meaning. From this Cartesian spirit has arisen a hyper-modern and structured style at the top of its form. A look and an attitude transcribed through graphic codes that have become emblematic signatures.’
