Christian Louboutin has to be ‘isolated from everything’ when he designs his shoes.

The footwear designer says he needs to be on his own when he is creating his shoes as it helps to inspire him.
He said: ‘I have to be alone to design, I’m quite spoilt. I can’t do it in cities: I have to be isolated from everything. I need to be in an environment I’m familiar with so that I’m not looking around and getting distracted.
‘I always design my winter collections somewhere cold, like my house in the country or France, or in Portugal. And I do my summer season in summer spots like my boat on the Nile.’
Christian - whose designs are a favourite with the likes of Victoria Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker and Beyonce Knowles – says he is so obsessed about shoes he dreams about them.
He said: ‘I dream about shoes. They often look silly in reality, but it happens all the time – I see them while I’m asleep and I wake up, just desperate to recreate them.’

Renowned shoe designer Christian Louboutin claims a good pair of high-heels help transform a woman’s attitude and appearance.

The shoe designer – whose high-heeled designs have become a favourite among a host of celebrities including Sarah Jessica Parker, Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss – loves seeing females put on his footwear as knows what a difference they can make.
He said: ‘When women put on a pair of beautiful shoes they instantly hold themselves differently. Shoes transform your body language and attitude. They lift you physically and emotionally. I remember watching a Spanish woman in my shop try on some heels. She instantly stood up taller, her chest went out and her shoulders went back. She told her friend that they were better than a face lift.’
Christian – whose shoes come complete with a red sole – believes his footwear is so popular with women becuase he understand what they like after growing up surrounded by girls.
He told Stylist magazine: ‘Women love my shoes because I understand women. I was brought up surrounded by them – I have four sisters. I understand their feelings, their needs, their problems, those things they won’t show in front of men. I know that they want to look good not just for themselves, but for other people. I help them to look sexy and beautiful and feel as good as possible.
