Karl Lagerfeld’s Coca-Cola designs

Karl Lagerfeld has designed a range of Coca-Cola Light bottles.

The Chanel designer has created a limited edition bottle for release in France, made in aluminium and featuring his own silhouette.

As well as designing the bottles, he also shot the advertising campaign starring models Coco Rocha and Baptise Giacobini.

The bottle goes on sale in France on April 28 and will sell for 47 euros and comes with a matching bottle opener.

In the campaign, Coco is seen in a Lagerfeld-inspired outfit, including his eponymous high-collared white shirt and a black neck tie.

It is not the only collaboration Karl is committing to this month – it was recently announced he would be working with luxury Italian label Hogan in 2011.

In a statement, Hogan said it was looking forward to working with the German-born fashionista.

It read: ‘Karl Lagerfeld has built a universe where every line is controlled and every detail has meaning. From this Cartesian spirit has arisen a hyper-modern and structured style at the top of its form. A look and an attitude transcribed through graphic codes that have become emblematic signatures.’

Coco Rocha’s weight defence

Coco RochaCoco Rocha has hit back at claims she’s ‘too fat for the runway’.

The model – who is a US size 4 – was furious with reports saying she wasn’t slim enough to grace the catwalk and says it’s disgusting how young girls in the industry are treated.

The 21-year-old beauty wrote on her blog: ‘I’m a 21 year old model, 6 inches taller and 10 sizes smaller than the average American woman. Yet in another parallel universe I’m considered ‘fat’… This was the subject of major discussion this week and the story that was spun was: ‘Coco Rocha is too fat for the runway.’

‘Is that the case? No. I am still used and in demand as a model. In fact I find myself busier than ever. In the past few years I have not gained an extreme amount of weight, only an inch here and there as any young woman coming out of her teenage years would.’

Instead, she believes the modelling world should focus on the positives about a girl’s appearance otherwise there could be huge health implications.

She said: ‘Surely, we all see how morally wrong it is for an adult to convince an already thin 15 year old that she is actually too fat. It is unforgivable that an adult should demand that the girl unnaturally lose the weight vital to keep her body functioning properly. How can any person justify an aesthetic that reduces a woman or child to an emaciated skeleton? Is it art? Surely fashion’s aesthetic should enhance and beautify the human form, not destroy it.’
