Sarah Jessica Parker dressed ‘like the Kennedys‘ when growing up despite coming from a poor family.

The ‘Sex and the City‘ actress says although she has a humble background, her mother strived to dress her and siblings as well as she could by buying ‘flawed’ dresses.
Sarah said: ‘For the early part of my life I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. We had no money. But we had this factory called Polly Slenders where my mother could go and get flawed dresses, so we were dressed like the Kennedys.
‘That’s how I started learning about clothes. I didn’t have access to clothing the way I did over the course of my tenure over at ‘Sex and the City‘, but I knew what was beautiful.’
Sarah recently starred in a Vogue photo shoot and told how she was astounded how the magazine’s editor Anna Wintour was able to secure a particular dress for the pictures.
Speaking at the shoot, she said: ‘There was a dress from the Dior show in Paris, and Anna pulled it – as only Anna can do – she said, ‘I need this in New York City’, and low and behold it arrived, it’s one of those indescribable Galliano dresses.’

Sarah Jessica Parker admits she couldn’t turn down her role with Halston.

The ‘Sex and the City‘ actress – who is regarded as one of the most stylish women of her generation – became a fashion executive at Halston Heritage, the archive-inspired secondary line of the label, earlier this year and says it was an offer she had no choice but to accept.
She said: ‘There was every reason to say no, and there were very compelling reasons to say yes. It’s an exciting time at that company. It has a wonderful legacy, and I couldn’t say no, and I’m figuring it out.’
Sarah says she has been in awe of the fashion house ever since her first visit to New York in 1977.
The 45-year-old star – who now lives in the fashion-conscious city - said: ‘It was 1977 in New York City, and you couldn’t be alive and not know the name Halston.’
The mother-of-three – who is married to actor Matthew Broderick – admits her new role means it will be a struggle to balance work and motherhood but is sure she will cope.
She told America’s Vogue magazine: ‘Does it scare me? Am I intimidated? Am I challenged? That’s kind of the way I’ve always made decisions ‘Luckily, the Halston offices are about a 10 minute walk from my house.’

Jennifer Hudson loves her new slimmer look.

The Oscar-winning actress has managed to shed 60lbs following the birth of her son David Otunga Jr. last August and her Los Angeles-based trainer Harley Pasternak admits they had an unusual goal for her to aim for.
He said: ‘Our goal was to bounce quarters off her butt. I think she looks fantastic. She loves the way she looks but she feels really great.’
Harley also claims Jennifer – who was recently announced as the face of Weight Watchers – is so motivated she will often exercise without him asking.
He told People magazine: ‘Unprompted, she’ll start running when I’ve just asked her to walk!’
Recently the ‘Sex and the City‘ actress admitted she loved joining Weight Watchers and felt like it changed her life for the better.
She said: ‘I decided to do Weight Watchers. I feel like I’ve conquered the world. It’s a lifestyle change, not a diet. I don’t really diet as such. I actually get up and work hard every day.
‘I make sure I eat right and just make sure I stay focused. It is about being consistent and sticking with it.’
