Kate Moss exhibition axed

An exhibition dedicated to the career of Kate Moss has been cancelled.

In September 2008, Paris museum Musee des Arts Decoratifs announced it would have a show in homage of the supermodel and explore the myth behind her.

The exhibition was set to include images of Kate, which have been taken by some of the world’s greatest photographers over the past 20 years.

It was due to be opened last November, but it was temporarily postponed due to lack of funds.

Now the museum has announced that ‘given the economic situation’ it is no longer planning to stage it at all.

While an exhibition is no longer happening, it was recently reported Kate‘s life is to become a play, which is being written by her musician boyfriend Jamie Hince with her help.

An insider said: ‘Jamie is addicted to playwriting and is always jotting down scenes.’

‘He mentioned an idea to Kate, based around the lives of her and her friends – and Kate leapt at the chance to get involved.’

The script will be backed by her friend and Topshop boss Sir Philip Green.

The 36-year-old beauty’s life would certainly make for interesting theatre, as well as modelling for Burberry, Dior and Chanel, she has dated a host of famous men including Johnny Depp and Pete Doherty.

She also has a seven-year-old daughter Lila Grace from her relationship with magazine publisher Jefferson Hack.

Non-designing Gisele Bundchen

Gisele Bundchen could never be a fashion designer.

The supermodel - who gave birth to her first child in December – admits she wouldn’t have the skills or the patience to create clothes and accessories full-time, but did enjoy working on her flip-flop collection, Ipamema, with Brazil’s largest shoe company Grendene.

Speaking at the launch in Paris yesterday (08.04.10), Gisele said: ‘I am very inspired by nature and like to use that for my ideas, but actually designing them – no way. I would be a disaster.’

The Brazilian beauty says she is more focused on her creations being environmentally-friendly rather than how much she helped design them.

She told WWD: ‘Nature is very close to my heart, and it is important for me that people who buy my flip-flops are made aware of the environment.’

Despite being one of the world’s most successful supermodels, Gisele recently admitted she was initially terrified when she entered the fashion industry so invented a second persona.

She said: ‘I was in the fashion shows in Milan, I was 17, I was doing like 100 shows. People were asking, ‘How does it feel to be the model of the moment?’ It was hard for me to answer as myself. I barely spoke English. I thought, I have to give my best because they trust me with that. I invented this other person, and she could do everything. She wasn’t afraid; she was able to be ballsy and risky and sexy or androgynous. She was bold. I had to believe in myself as this person that was strong, up-front, invincible, and positive, who knew what she was doing, even though I really didn’t.’

Eva Herzigova’s Etam range

Eva Herzigova has created a fashion line for Etam.

The supermodel has teamed up with the French label to design a ready-to-wear label, entitled Eva Herzigova Pour 1.2.3, and admits she had a lot of fun doing it.

Speaking about her range, Eva said: ‘It has been totally hands-on, no one telling me what to do and designing whatever crossed my mind.

‘Having done my own clothes from when I was young in the Czech Republic, I know how things are assembled and think of each detail. I am a perfectionist and I demand a lot, and I wanted something that is affordable but also luxurious.’

Laurent Milchior, co-managing director of the Etam Group, added to WWD: ‘Eva is a real woman, always elegant, and will bring a bit more warmth to the brand.’

The collection features jeans, trench coats and gypsy skirts, as well as smarter outfits including long silk evening dresses.

She has also designed a range of accessories to complement the clothes.

A website is set to be launched in July to make the collection more accessible.

Confident Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum says being confident about her looks is all part of being a good model.

Heidi Klum

The German beauty – who is one of the world’s most successful supermodels - admits she has to be sure of her appearance otherwise her self-doubt would show in images of her.

She said: ‘It’s part of being a good model - you have to become the fantasy for that moment. I know who I am as a person, but when you get to play different parts in front of the camera, you have to be that girl or this girl, what’s wrong with that? There are worse jobs.’

The mother-of-four is renowned for regaining her stunning figure after each of her pregnancies and believes a lot of it is down to luck.

She said: ‘I always eat sensibly and I think a lot of it has to do with genes. I think I’m a little bit lucky.’

Heidi - who is married to singer Seal - admits being a mother has calmed her down as she will no longer do risky photo shoots.

The ‘Germany’s Next Top Model‘ host told Britain’s Tatler magazine: ‘I still have the same values in life but I’m definitely not as crazy any more. Not that I was ever crazy-crazy because that’s just not who I am, but I would do wild photo shoots. For example, yesterday Rankin was flaming up the girls with fire for ‘Germany’s Next Top Model‘. I don’t want to do dangerous things any more.’

Gwen Stefani’s bright colour trend

With the warmer weather approaching celebrities are experimenting more with their make-up, so gone are the safe shades and in their place are fresh and bright colours.

Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys and Amanda Bynes are among a host of stars to showcase the bold look, which can be achieved by using Urban Decay, the cosmetic brand which isn’t afraid to use colour and sparkle.

Wende Zomnir, founding partner and Executive Creative Director of the firm, said: ‘If you’re new to wearing colour, I always recommend picking a look you like out of a magazine and practice the application on yourself right before washing your face at bedtime. Feel free to experiment, be bold and try something new because it’s going right down the drain. And when it’s time to rock Spring’s colourful new make-up, you’ve already taken the guesswork out of achieving a celeb-worthy look.’

For head-turning lips, Wende recommends red shades, a colour which has recently been sported by Rachel McAdams, Sandra Bullock and Natalie Portman.

She told US TV show ‘Access Hollywood‘: ‘Jilted and Gash from Urban Decay are beautiful shades for giving you a bold lip that looks pretty and dramatic. Just remember, keep the eyes sheer, neutral and slightly shimmery. Lining only the upper lash line in black or dark brown adds a little drama without adding weight and doesn’t compete with a sexy, strong lip.’

But if women want to accentuate their eyes rather than lips, Wende thinks glitter is the way forward.

She said: ‘Eyes are also in full bloom. I got up this morning and felt drawn to a vibrant, iridescent purple eye-shadow called Flash and rimmed my entire eye (upper and lower lids) with it.

‘Recent fashion spreads featuring supermodel Lily Cole showcase her eyes with thick smudges of rich violet and a generous helping of violet glitter all over the lids. Colour is everywhere, it’s easy to wear and creates an instant update for your look.’
